We adore our neighborhood Aldi and shop there once a week. They don't have everything we need, but many of their products are excellent. Not everyone is. Most of their employees are friendly. Not everyone is. same as it is everywhere.
When we received our local Geelong West one, we were ecstatic.

The lady at the counter was extremely rude and aggressive. I was overcharged for one of my items I bought last night and the tights I bought was not the right size. I took the items back the next day and tried to explain the rude lady at the counter that I wanted a refund on the tights and
I have been overcharged for my other product. She just shut me by saying that she she can only take onething at a time and right after that she again charged me on the overcharged product. And asking me to pay for the stuff i have already paid last night. I tried to excuse her and said," I have been overcharged for this item." And after that she called the store manager to solve the issue which she was not able to figure out.

Excessive bag searches
City where company is located (optional): Perth

Made a complaint about excessive back search was contacted by the standing area manager he was more interested in his own voice and defending the bag search policy. The individual was rude and aggressive and felt the need to disinfect myself after having spoken to the aggressive individual. The manner in which Aldi undertakes his bag search policy is a disgrace and shows what Aldi thinks of this customers.

Advertised Aldi number does not work
City where company is located (optional): Sydney

Find it ironic that you advertise a complaint phone number and it does not work. So when you have a complaint all you can do is email and then get no response back from Aldi CS.
Once again out done yourself Aldi

Mouse droppings

Mouse droppings at the checkout area in aisle 3.
Complained on 12/9/2021.
Went back on 25/10/2021 and once again mouse droppings on the snacks in aisle 3. Mice had eaten into packets of snacks. Disgusting how Aldi responded to me and even more disgusted that they did nothing. Still no response back from Aldi CS , but wouldn’t expect anything else from a company you can not contact directly. I will never shop again there.

publicly thrown out
City where company is located (optional): Bathurst

What happened to me on the weekend completely shocked and hurt me. I’m a single 26 year old. I was publicly harassed, carped at, reported to the police and thrown out of Aldi Bathurst this past weekend because the “warden” at the door, as I call her, assumed that I hadn’t checked in. I don’t even like going to town any more, and just want to hide in my home. Here’s a little glimpse into what the average joe blow has to go through when they’re just trying to get a few items for dinner at the store.

The “warden” was at the door talking to someone at the time I entered and didn’t see me lift my phone to the QR code prior to entry. She then aggressively stomped after me when I was half way down the first aisle and demanded, more than asked, for me to show her my check in. I was shocked, as no other stores had ever asked for this or treated me in this way. I believed my phone to be my private property and that I didn’t have to show her. I politely refused and said to please just let me do my shopping. What followed completely shocked and rattled me. She called the police right there on the spot whilst standing in front of me and was loudly announcing “I have a lady here in a striped top and black boots who is refusing to check in!” She started snapping photos of my face. She aggressively followed me around step for step close behind me whilst continually repeating “you need to check in! You need to check in!” She wasn’t at 1.5 meters either, and meanwhile streams of people were pouring through the open door with no supervision. In seconds the whole aisle knew what was happening and some poor elderly man quite shakily tried to give me advice on what to do. I continued to the other side of the store whilst the “warden” continued close behind me reporting on her phone, snapping photos of my face at intervals, whilst apparently talking to the police and carping at me as I went. By the time I had crossed the width of Aldi, the entire store and every register was staring at me. The “warden”, still on the phone, was telling the police for the millionth time that I hadn’t checked in (which in fact she had no evidence of). She told them that there were cameras in the building and that I was refusing to leave. I hadn’t heard her tell me to leave, at this point, so that was news to me. I was right near the checkout so I put my things on the conveyer belt and attempted to purchase them. The “warden” told me “You won’t be served!” She stood there off to the side with her legs spread apart and with her phone in her hand like she was some kind of policeman. She loudly announced to everyone going through my register “Everyone here is DISGUSTED with you!” “You’ll be fined $5,000 when the police arrive!” And “It’s because of people like you that everyone is sick!” And took another photo of my face for probably the fourth time. She kept on and on, saying loudly that I hadn’t checked in. EVERYONE vanished from around us and I was the only one left at my register, whilst the other registers were jammed full. Another dear elderly man tried to tell me to just leave my things and go sign in. Everyone looked very stressed and uncomfortable. When I got to the checkout lady, she put my things aside and looked away, ignoring me and refused to put my items through. I had to leave and was marched to the door by the warden and thrown out in front of everyone. I felt sick and shaken up for days after.

Well done, Aldi! I’m off to Woolies!

Good store but bad customer service
I send my son who is 14yrs to purchase some items from the shop. First time sending him alone for shopping. Gave him $20/- to buy some chips and biscuits. Total amount he purchased was for 4.98/-. At the counter he was given only $10.90/- and receipt was not given. When he came back to the car I asked him for the change and I saw that it was wrong. Sent him back to the shop to collect it. Since he was taking time to get back, I went into the store. The manager dealing when I enquired was not at all good. His name is Carlos and works at Bald Hills, Brisbane branch. He was trying to make us thieves. He said after closing the shop when they count and if there is extra he will call and ask us to come back and collect. Is that the way he should speak? If ALDI staff makes a mistake they should know how to solve the problem. He was very arrogant. I insisted that I needed the money now. After checking the counter box he realized they made the mistake. I admit that people can make mistakes. But this staff did not have any sort of apologizing behavior. He gave me back the item and said have a good evening. He wasn't even going to apologise.
Made us look like thieves for $5/-. We have been customers of ALDI a long time, 13yrs. Every week around $150/- spend at ALDI alone. Specially in the Bald Hill store for the past 6yrs since we moved house.
Many fruit items purchased ALDI were not good. We had to throw some of the items because of the hazel of going back for refund.
I am not sure if this is the way you your staff.
Did not have any such staff service from Coles or Woolworths.
