What is meant by metro train?
April 2022) Rapid transit or mass rapid transit (MRT), also known as heavy rail or metro, is a type of high-capacity public transport generally found in urban areas. A rapid transit system that primarily or traditionally runs below the surface may be called a subway, tube, or underground.

Is metro faster than train?
The government also uses the term metro as synonymous with fast. These new metro lines will be faster than the clunky old regular train services, it says. But in other parts of the world, metro means more than just small train. Because metro trains are lighter than, well, heavier rail, they are quick to start and stop.

Why it is called metro?
A passenger railway going inside an urban area was called the METROPOLITAN RAILWAY (urban train system), in modern English: METRO. The first metro was opened in London and later most of it was soon built underground (under the city), so it was then called THE UNDERGROUND, even to this day.

I can honestly tell that Melbourne's infrastructure is of the highest caliber after five months of using it. Everything just works well, but for some crappy graffiti and animal vandalism.
