SCGH was opened in 1958 and named in honour of Sir Charles Gairdner, governor of Western Australia 1951-63. It’s home to WA’s only comprehensive cancer center — the largest cancer treatment center at the State — and it is the State’s principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.

Say anything I want to! For my surgery, I spent the night and day in the hospital's G section. They had an amazing and very kind personnel. taking care of me and calming me down before the operation. In addition to being delicious, the place was quite peaceful at night. I'm grateful that you made our stay wonderful!

Had an eye op on right eye op itself went well though I was there on time was a 4 hrs wait to have op done being diabetic my ketones went to an alarming rate as I fasted 22 hrs as I waited too long to go in for operation so got to ward for after care nurse would not let me administer insulin fir the night time so sugars were out of control breakfast fir a diabetic was jam on white toast it was a disgrace nasty nurse looking after me felt sick they wouldn’t listen to anything I was saying bloody terrible no food option at all was offered white bread sandwich full of sugar
